“Winnebago Sturgeon Spearing Report – Friday February 25

Throughout the season I have referred to various historical events, rules, people, and management actions that have impacted or been a part of our Winnebago Lake Sturgeon Management Program over the years. Today’s vignette is the whole enchilada – all of the sturgeon rules, laws, significant environmental events, and management actions since 1874 . Have fun.

Two days to go…………19 fish today; 1 fish over 100 lbs. This season will run through the weekend and end at 12:30 PM Sunday February 27.

Largest fish of the day was 100.1 lb, 67.1″ F2 registered at Payne’s Point Station by Kane Olson of Neenah.

Totals by harvest category:

Lake Winnebago: 2 Juvenile Females
6 Adult Females
11 Male
19 Lake Winnebago Total for the Day – 1043 total for season
